TEXTUAL TENSION - 2015
ABOUT THIS WORK /// This playful, confounding stop-motion video explores the challenge of expressing feelings about love and abstract painting. Words are repeatedly written, read, reversed, erased—constantly succeeding and failing at communication. The piece highlights the inherent difficulty of using language to convey emotions surrounding these two subjects.
NOTE: This video is designed for display on a large monitor (40"+) hung crookedly, 30" from the floor, it runs on a continuous loop with no audio. Alternatively, it can be playfully projected onto architectural elements, adapting to its surroundings.
